Genshirō Okikiba

Okikiba carries the look of an old man, his forehead and cheeks creased with wrinkles. He keeps his hair swept back and sports a large mustache, and a single streak of that hair is dyed black.

Under Captain-Commander Yamamoto, Genshirō held the third seat of the 1st Division. When the Wandenreich stormed Soul Society, he was inside the commander's office and was ordered to remain and guard the division barracks, a post that left him caught in Yhwach's later destruction of the building. He pulled through, and the new Captain-Commander, Shunsui Kyōraku, raised him to co-lieutenant of the division, a rank he holds jointly with Nanao Ise while handling the practical, day-to-day affairs of the office.

As the enemy pressed their attack on the Soul King Palace, Shunsui warned him and Nanao that he might have to leave the Seireitei behind. A decade after the Quincy were defeated, Genshirō attended the ceremony marking Rukia Kuchiki's promotion to captain of the 13th Division. Later, when the lieutenants were summoned to the Human World for the Jogimen Reibaku rite, Nanao left him to keep watch at Shunsui's side.

As a lieutenant of the Gotei 13, Genshirō wields a substantial store of spiritual power. His sealed Zanpakutō appears as a katana fitted with a plain golden guard and green wrapping along the hilt; neither its Shikai release nor a Bankai has ever been shown.
