A tuft of oversized pink hair crowns this small, aged-looking figure, whose torso dwarfs a pair of stubby legs. His mouth never quite shuts, so his prominent teeth stay on display, and one eye drifts upward to the right while spectacles sit over both. Four contact points fix an ornament across his face, and he drapes himself in the hooded trench coat that marks the Sternritter, cut in his own variation.

Cruel amusement defines him. He flickers in and out of view to torment those he fights, peppering them with mocking questions while they flail at empty air. Snap judgments come easily, and he sizes people up by looks, dismissing Yachiru Kusajishi as a feral little animal and sneering at her hair and features. Irrational conduct sets him off quickly, enough that he lunges to knife her the instant her reasoning strikes him as absurd. His defiance runs deep too: when Gremmy Thoumeaux, the very source of his being, makes a few ironic remarks about his gift, Guenael rounds on his creator without a flicker of hesitation.

Like any Quincy, he draws ambient spirit particles and fuses them with his own energy into weaponry, a task made simpler in reishi-dense realms such as Soul Society. His signature gift, Vanishing Point, lets him slip beyond sight, feeling, and even recollection: opponents cannot recall having struck him, as Yachiru discovered when the memory of her own blow simply evaporated. The technique runs in three modes. The first wipes away his visible form, the second erases his physical presence and leaves a decoy afterimage, and the third scrubs him from an enemy's mind entirely. Flicking between the first two on the fly leaves him almost impossible to land a hit on, and he can strike while unseen. A separate trick, the Vanishing Slider, packs his spiritual pressure into a short backward glide, granting a burst of reaction speed that spared him from being cut clean in half by Yachiru. His crafted arms range from a compact reishi dagger, sharp enough to open a lieutenant, to a larger reverse-gripped blade.

Because he is only Gremmy's fantasy given shape, his letter is a title in name alone, never bestowed through Yhwach's engraving rite, and Gremmy can unmake him as effortlessly as he made him, which is exactly how Guenael meets his end.
