Lille Barro

Lille presents as a mature, dark skinned man whose short hair is stark white, framed by trim sideburns. The most striking mark on him is the tattoo over his perpetually closed left eye, an X enclosed in a circle that reads like a tilted crosshair. A long white cloak drapes over his frame, and beneath it he wears embroidered white gloves bearing a winged X, a pale sleeveless shirt, and a furred dark green pauldron on his right shoulder. His dark green trousers give way to detached white leggings that break near the calf, and a matching green furred bicorn, stamped on each side with a small Wandenreich crest, tops the ensemble.

Lille holds that whoever is losing a fight is always the slower to grasp and respond to what is unfolding, and he places absolute trust in Yhwach, insisting the Soul King's palace was doomed the instant his master set foot there. For all that certainty, anything beyond his understanding rattles him with ease. As the very first Quincy handed a Schrift by Yhwach, he regards himself as the emperor's finest creation and the man nearest to godhood, so convinced of his supremacy that he deems a Shinigami's Bankai incapable of ending his life. Stripped of that borrowed divinity later on, he collapses into vengeful fury, declaring that even Shunsui Kyōraku's death would not appease him and turning to lay waste to the Seireitei in recompense.

Chosen as the earliest recipient of a Schrift from the Quincy emperor Yhwach, Lille rose to command the Schutzstaffel, the ruler's elite personal guard. When Yhwach's forces breached the Soul King Palace, Lille and his fellow guards were loosed against the Royal Guard. He gunned down the cities ringing the palace and boasted that his weapon renders dodging meaningless, since his Schrift, The X-Axis, drills perfectly round holes through his target and everything along the straight line between it and his muzzle. Ōetsu Nimaiya cut him down early, but Yhwach's Auswählen revived and strengthened him, after which he punched shots clean through the blades of two Royal Guards to strike the man they shielded.

His longest duel pits him against Captain Commander Shunsui Kyōraku. Opening both eyes lets Lille turn The X-Axis on himself, so that attacks phase harmlessly through his body, and he presses this supposed invincibility while unveiling his Vollständig, Jilliel. Shunsui's layered Bankai answers by mirroring wounds back onto him, sickening him, and finally drowning the pair, yet Lille survives even a severed head and reforms into a second, owl faced incarnation of Jilliel. In this godlike state he wields wide rays of light and the colossal blast of Trompete.

The tide turns when Nanao Ise arrives bearing Shinken Hakkyōken, a blade that reflects a god's own power back at him. Her sword severs his hand and then hurls the force of his own Trompete into his body, shattering him and destroying the halo that anchored his divine powers. His remnants reform as drastically weakened, flamingo like birds that swear revenge and rampage across the Seireitei until Izuru Kira cuts them down. The novel Bleach: Can't Fear Your Own World later confirms that his diminished form was wiped out and that the whole Schutzstaffel perished by the war's end.
