The Greater Soul King Palace lists hard to one side, and Orihime Inoue, Yasutora Sado, and Ganju Shiba fight to keep their footing as Pernida Parnkgjas tumbles off the edge. Uryu Ishida plants himself between Yhwach and Ichigo Kurosaki, draws another arrow, and warns that any movement will draw his fire. When Ichigo advances, Uryu looses the shot, which Ichigo cleaves apart before asking whether his old friend understands why they came. Uryu answers that he already knows their purpose and simply refuses to allow it, unmoved even by the reminder that every world will die.
Claiming his loyalty lies with Yhwach because he is a Quincy, Uryu watches Gerard Valkyrie rise with Pernida in his grasp while Askin Nakk Le Vaar and Lille Barro close in around the others. Rather than accept their help, Uryu fires into the floor beneath Ichigo's group, splintering it and sending them plunging away.
