During the Agent of the Shinigami arc, Midoriko slips into the school restroom and overhears Karin scolding Yuzu. She approaches Yuzu to ask how Karin is holding up, then admits she can already guess the answer. When Karin emerges from a stall and snaps at her to leave, Midoriko departs puzzled by her friend's sour mood.
Later she catches sight of Kon, occupying Ichigo's body, leaping across the top of the school wall. Startled by the sight, she is quickly cornered by Karin, who bullies her into insisting she witnessed nothing at all.
