Negación

Negación, a Spanish word for negation paired with a Japanese reading meaning counter-membrane, is a beam of light that greater Hollows raise to pull their fellows to safety. It has only ever been produced by the Gillian-class Menos, the lowest and most numerous of their kind.

The technique manifests as squared shafts of light that swallow their target within a towering column, walling the occupant off from the surrounding dimension so completely that no attack from outside can reach through the barrier. Anyone caught inside is steadily drawn upward toward the Menos responsible for the beam. Every Gillian is capable of producing it, yet it has only ever been cast on targets standing outside Hueco Mundo, such as within Soul Society, and its purpose is strictly rescue rather than combat.

The power belongs to the Gillian-class Menos. Its most notable use came when a Gillian drew Kaname Tōsen, Gin Ichimaru, and Sousuke Aizen upward as the three traitors fled Soul Society. Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto, the Gotei 13's Captain-Commander, called the pursuit finished the instant that light closed around them, since anyone who had once fought a Gillian knew the fugitives now lay beyond reach.
