Film! Festival! Shinigami Film Festival!

Nanao announces at a meeting that the Seireitei will hold an international film festival, framed as a low-cost entertainment push and timed to celebrate the fourth Bleach movie, a reference that baffles Ichigo. Rukia notes the Soul Society needs the revenue to repair damage from its many battles, and Renji simply urges everyone to make something great. Wandering the Seireitei afterward, Ichigo discovers Urahara's shop is co-sponsoring the event and is quickly recruited by the Fourth and Seventh Divisions for their post-apocalyptic drama about animals rescuing humans, ending up in a dog costume opposite Iba.

Kenpachi barges in wanting to fight Ichigo for the Eleventh Division's film, and is deflected by Unohana. Ichigo then encounters Ukitake shooting a documentary about living life to the fullest and Kyōraku, whose preferred film Nanao vetoed. Renji drags Ichigo into the Sixth Division's production, a maid-cop movie starring Rukia, with Rangiku as her rival, Byakuya handling special effects through Kidō, and Ichigo's friends cast as henchmen.

The shoot spirals out of control: Byakuya's effects knock Ichigo into a pit, Rukia defeats her captive castmates, and the crew relocates to Sōkyoku Hill for the finale, only to be chased off by the Onmitsukidō. Cornered in the underground passage, Byakuya refuses to yield to the stealth force and releases his Bankai, collapsing the ceiling and blasting water through the roof to end the film.

Nanao announces the Seireitei International Film Festival. Multiple divisions begin filming competing movies, and Ichigo is pressed into service on several of them. The Sixth Division's maid-cop movie descends into chaos, culminating in Byakuya unleashing his Bankai against the stealth force and demolishing the underground set.

This is an anime-only episode with no corresponding manga chapters or arc placement. It aired in Japan on November 23, 2010, and in English on May 19, 2013. Series director Noriyuki Abe appears in a cameo as a Shinigami director, and the mobile game Bleach: Brave Souls later ran a tie-in event serving as a sequel. A picture-book segment shows Shinji planning his own monster film starring a reluctant Hiyori.
