Summary

More than a thousand years earlier, a young Bazz-B mocks Haschwalth's clumsy hunting, hands him a rabbit, and adopts the friendless boy as his underling, promising to make them both the strongest Quincy alive. When Yhwach's forces raze Bazz-B's home and murder his mother, the two survivors take to the woods, sustaining themselves on stolen valuables and training obsessively for revenge. Bazz-B keeps vowing to teach Haschwalth how to form a Heilig Bogen, unaware that his own growing power comes from the gift his partner unconsciously shares.

Years later Yhwach announces the Sternritter and comes to collect his future lieutenant. To everyone's shock he passes over the talented Bazz-B and chooses Haschwalth, revealing him as a rare Quincy who cannot absorb Reishi but instead pours power into others. Haschwalth's very presence had turned Bazz-B into a prodigy, and when Haschwalth tries to redirect the honor and Bazz-B fires an arrow at Yhwach in fury, Haschwalth calmly catches it, cementing a rift that never heals.

In the present within Wahrwelt, the two finally battle. Bazz-B unleashes escalating flame techniques, but Haschwalth answers each with cold precision, severing his arm and walking through his strongest blast, Burning Full Fingers, unharmed. A final slash across the chest ends it. Bazz-B staggers over, grips his old friend, admits defeat, and confesses he thought losing would feel worse, then dies as Haschwalth quietly climbs the stairs and leaves him behind.
