Kibune Goes to War! The Violent Wind that Rages

Worn down by weeks of menial errands, Kira and the 3rd Division grumble about their assignments. When Kira raises the issue with Captain Shusuke Amagai, the captain's use of his given name unsettles him with memories of Gin Ichimaru. Amagai explains the busywork is meant to rebuild the trust Ichimaru's betrayal shattered, and he envisions himself, Kira, and Kibune as three pillars of a renewed division. Placing Kibune in charge of team-building drills, however, leaves the men viewing Kibune as the more dependable officer.

Overhearing the men's praise for Kibune stings Kira, who snaps back when Kibune tries to reassure him and later drowns his gloom in sake alongside Iba and Renji. The next day, a report of a suspicious shadow near the ruined execution grounds sends Kira, Kibune, and an unseated member to investigate, only for the ground to collapse and drop all three into a pit lined with caged Hollows that are somehow set loose.

When the unseated Shinigami begins being absorbed by a Hollow, Kira moves to save him, but Kibune releases his Zanpakuto and cuts through the swarm, calling the man worthless and blaming Kira's softness for the Ichimaru disaster. Their powers clash and vaporize the surrounding Hollows, chipping Kira's blade. Investigators later find signs of tampering, yet neither officer tells Amagai the truth, while it emerges the Hollows were Mayuri's escaped experiments. Elsewhere, Rurichiyo Kasumioji slips through the clan's gate toward the Human World.

Amagai's decision to put Kibune in charge of drills deepens Kira's insecurity within the 3rd Division. A rigged collapse at the execution grounds unleashes caged Hollows, and Kibune clashes with Kira over saving an unseated member, chipping Kira's sword. Evidence of tampering surfaces but goes unreported, the Hollows are revealed as Mayuri's experiments, and Rurichiyo sneaks out toward the Human World.

This anime-only episode belongs to the New Captain Shusuke Amagai arc and has no manga basis. It builds Kira's arc of self-worth while planting suspicion around Kibune's loyalties. Chu-Bura serves as the opening and Orange as the ending. A picture-book segment shows Yachiru revealing the secret tunnels she carved throughout Byakuya's estate, to his quiet astonishment.
