The 243rd Bleach episode scatters the Gotei 13 across the Seireitei as they clash with their own rebellious blade spirits, with Izuru Kira, Suì-Fēng, and Ichigo each locked in separate duels while Kenpachi finally storms onto the field.
With the rebellion of the sword spirits at full pitch, the battlefield splinters into several simultaneous duels. Isane Kotetsu and Tetsuzaemon Iba corner the childlike Ashisogi Jizō, whose venom and paralysing strikes leave Isane unable to stand, while Haineko and Tobiume harass the pair until Momo Hinamori and Rangiku Matsumoto arrive to even the odds. Suì-Fēng weathers Gonryōmaru's lightning and Tenken's flames, turning aside a combined blast with her Shunkō before meeting the sharp-tongued Suzumebachi, who reveals herself as the captain's own spirit.
Elsewhere, Yumichika Ayasegawa struggles against Ruri'iro Kujaku, refusing to reveal the true nature of his power. At the relief barracks, a recovering Tōshirō Hitsugaya wakes to find Hyōrinmaru at his side, reassuring him that his comrades are strong enough to endure Muramasa's assault. Izuru Kira, meanwhile, feeds Kazeshini false confidence about having regained his Shikai, then binds the spirit with kidō only to be ambushed from behind by Wabisuke. As Ichigo trades blows with Senbonzakura amid a storm of blade petals, a towering column of spirit energy erupts nearby, and Kenpachi Zaraki laughs at its center.
Suì-Fēng concludes her fight with Gonryōmaru and Tenken and learns that Suzumebachi is the spirit of her Zanpakutō. Izuru defeats Kazeshini with a psychological bluff and Bakudō #63, then finds himself pinned by Wabisuke. Ichigo begins his direct confrontation with Senbonzakura, and Kenpachi Zaraki arrives at the scene of the battle.
