Yammy Llargo swells with rage and names anger as the engine of his release, while in Fake Karakura Town Aizen rejects Shinji Hirako's faith in Ichigo and vows to become an inescapable god. At the chapter's close, Kaname Tōsen prepares to reveal a power beyond Bankai.
Even after Byakuya and Kenpachi's combined assault, Yammy Llargo claims it barely stung. Swearing he will not forgive them, he swells still larger and reshapes his body, declaring that his release bears the name Ira because rage is the source of his power, and that these two captains have driven his fury to its peak. From the sidelines Mayuri Kurotsuchi urges them to finish him fast, since a bigger corpse will only complicate his autopsy.
In Fake Karakura Town, a shaken Shinji Hirako entrusts Hiyori to Hachi and steps forward to face Aizen. Overhearing Shinji tell Hachi to hold out until Ichigo arrives, Aizen dismisses that faith as misplaced and questions whether Shinji has ever truly leaned on his comrades. Aizen counters that trust and reliance are crutches for the weak, that he only ever preached self-reliance to his subordinates, and that their failure to live up to it drove them to exalt him into a godlike figure. He vows to become the god they will have no choice but to believe in. Watching Aizen ready himself for the fray, Tōsen announces the time has come to unleash his true power. Komamura assumes he means Bankai, but Tōsen says Aizen granted him something grander still, then lifts a hand to his face as Komamura recoils in shock.
Yammy grows enraged and enlarges again, naming anger as the source of his released strength. In Fake Karakura Town, Aizen rejects Shinji's belief in Ichigo and declares his intent to become an inescapable god, while Kaname Tōsen prepares to unveil a power Aizen gave him that surpasses Bankai.
