Summary

Ichigo's return leaves everyone stunned. His hair has grown out, his frame seems taller, and a black sheath now covers his right hand and forearm, while Tensa Zangetsu bears a rougher, patched guard and a chain that winds all the way up his bared arm. He quietly thanks his sleeping, newly bearded father and senses that his sisters are unharmed.

Key Events

After reassuring his classmates and fumbling Zennosuke's name to comic effect, Ichigo tells them to stay back while he handles Aizen. Tatsuki notices she can feel nothing at all from him, whereas Aizen's power still smothers everything nearby. Aizen himself is unsettled, unable to detect any spiritual pressure and convinced that Ichigo wasted his final chance to grow strong enough to matter.

Notes

Watching from the ground, the dying Gin reads fresh resolve in Ichigo's eyes and silently entrusts the fight to him. When Aizen sneers that Ichigo could never harm him, Ichigo grabs his face, shoves him for miles, and drives him into the earth with almost no effort, then warns him to ready himself. Episode 308 adapts the chapter.
