Screaming Invader

Renji hauls the fallen Jackie through Yukio's dimension in search of a way out, having assumed one would open once she was beaten. She guesses the exit stays hidden because she still lives, and Renji, impressed she is already conscious, praises her toughness. He turns down her offer to be finished off, then notices the sky folding in on itself. Jackie realizes Yukio has been watching and is now erasing the space around them. Once more she urges Renji to kill her so an exit can form, and once more he refuses, insisting they will break out by force. Calling him a good man, she is caught in a sudden blast.

Yukio applauds her for dying to protect an enemy and wonders whether the lieutenant survived, only for Hitsugaya to arrive. Meeting the boy's chatter with clipped replies, Hitsugaya evades the monsters Yukio conjures and pieces together that the boy was cast aside as a child. Yukio rejects the reading, claiming instead that he ruined his father's business, seized the money, and walked out on his parents himself. While he talks, Hitsugaya closes in and locks him in ice, then notes that his own creatures are still bearing down on them both.

Jackie sacrifices herself to shield Renji as Yukio collapses the dimension. Hitsugaya confronts Yukio, dodges his summoned monsters, and freezes him in place while the creatures close in.
