Tsukishima spells out the secret: an eighty-five centimeter band around Byakuya that neither Shikai nor Bankai will ever cut, a safe pocket he intends to exploit by pressing forward instead of retreating.

In her own room, Riruka Dokugamine hurls dolls and a cabinet at Rukia with her Love Gun and, having finally given away her position, taunts the lieutenant about whether she can bring herself to kill. Rukia refuses, holding that protecting humanity is a Shinigami's duty and she will not slay an ordinary Human. Piecing together that the Love Gun can fire whatever is loaded inside it, she still tells Riruka she cannot treat her as a true equal, however potent the weapon. Riruka retorts that Fullbringers are far more than human and triggers her Addiction Shot, sealing Rukia inside a tiny plush toy and mocking whether she can even grip a Zanpakutō now.

Tsukishima exposes Senbonzakura's uncuttable Hurtless Area to unbalance Byakuya. Riruka reveals that the Love Gun fires whatever objects it holds, then uses Addiction Shot to trap Rukia inside a plushie.
