Two fronts move at once in this chapter of Bleach. Down in the ruined city a bloodied Liltotto Lamperd settles her score with the traitor PePe Waccabrada, while far above, Tenjiro Kirinji cannot land a single strike on Yhwach, and the reason for his failure finally slips out of the darkness.

Summary

Cornered and battered though she is, Liltotto Lamperd triggers her Quincy: Vollstandig, Gagael, and stalks toward a nervous PePe Waccabrada as he feigns delight at her survival. She reminds him that he turned the other Sternritter against one another in a scheme to wipe them out, then widens her jaws through The Glutton and swallows him whole while he weeps for mercy.

High overhead in the Soul King Palace, a sweating Tenjiro Kirinji cannot understand why nothing he does reaches Yhwach. A cut he drives up through the floor merely bends around the invader and his escorts, Jugram Haschwalth and Uryu Ishida, warping a long stretch of the Vestibule Road rather than touching them. Senjumaru Shutara stands atop the staircase, flanked by a dozen Divine Soldiers, and remarks that felling Yamamoto has plainly gone to Yhwach's head. When her soldiers descend on him, their blades curve away in a ring, and Nianzol Weizol rises from a Shadow at his feet to sneer that none of the attacks came anywhere near.

In the rebuilt Seireitei, an artificial Kakaku Taiho surfaces from the ground while music blasts. Ichigo Kurosaki demands that Kisuke Urahara lower the volume, then realizes with irritation that Urahara hears him perfectly and simply likes the atmosphere. Counting backward from three, Urahara readies the launch of Yoruichi Shihoin, Yasutora Sado, Orihime Inoue, and Ichigo himself.
