GOD OF THUNDER 3

As chunks of Silbern break loose overhead and miss him, Askin Nakk Le Vaar sprawls on the ground marveling that nothing can kill him and idly asks Yoruichi Shihoin's opinion. She ignores him, barely upright after taking a Gift Ball laced with Reishi, oxygen, and nitrogen. Surprised she still lives, Askin insists he genuinely tried to end her and tells her to stop belittling him to seem stronger. Glancing at her fallen brother Yushiro, whom she lacks the strength to heal, Yoruichi is cornered as Askin steps in close, noting how easily he reached her.

Kisuke Urahara then appears, gropes Yoruichi and remarks on it, and earns a kick to the chin for the crude greeting. Askin recognizes him only as one of the Special War Powers marked by Yhwach, and as Yoruichi springs up he pieces together the roster of five: Ichigo for hidden potential, Kenpachi for raw combat strength, Ichibe'e Hyosube for wisdom, Aizen for spiritual pressure, and Urahara for his unreadable schemes, deciding this explains his mounting troubles.

Yoruichi realizes Kisuke injected her with an immunity booster, though rushed work limits it to roughly five minutes. She reaches for Shunko: Raijin Senkei again, but Kisuke steers her toward a different technique she flatly refuses to touch. After they dodge Askin's Heilig Pfeil and she is knocked down by a punch to the stomach, Kisuke shows her a slip of paper and warns that peeling it will transform her. He tears it away, triggering a violent blast that shoves Askin back and leaves him staring at Yoruichi, now bearing beastlike features through Shinshun Chohenge.

Askin's endless adaptation nearly kills Yoruichi before Kisuke arrives with a temporary immunity drug. Askin reasons out the identities of the five Special War Powers and why they plague him. Against Yoruichi's will, Kisuke removes a seal and forces her into the animalistic Shinshun Chohenge to overcome Askin's defenses.

Part of the extended Yoruichi and Urahara stand against Askin in Volume 72, this chapter reveals the full lineup of Yhwach's designated Special War Powers. It sets up Yoruichi's transformed Shunko form, which pays off in the following installment. Grimmjow's earlier poisoning and Urahara's schemes hang over the sequence.
