Summary

Reo Mikage rushes to check on Seishiro Nagi after the foul and is told he is fine. Furious at Wataru Kuon's challenge, Reo starts to lash out until Zantetsu Tsurugi warns that a second booking would banish him from the match. When Rensuke Kunigami presses Kuon on his reckless tackle, Kuon admits he acted purely for his own sake. Gurimu Igarashi spells out the cost: the foul has handed Kunigami the top striker slot for Team Z, meaning he, not Kuon, would advance should the team fall short. Kuon accepts the danger, insisting his body moved on instinct and urging his side to win at any cost since his dream of becoming the world's finest striker still burns.

Three minutes of added time go up on the board. Some Team V members float the idea of simply killing the clock, but Reo insists on burying Team Z outright, and Zantetsu backs him, treating a draw as no better than defeat. Nagi commits to one more strike, and Reo steps up to deliver the free kick. As Team Z packs a defensive wall, they know full well this opening exists only because Kuon turned against his own interests.

Reading Reo as a pure ego striker, Okuhito Iemon bets on a direct shot rather than a pass to Nagi or Zantetsu, and he tips the effort away from the upper corner. In the ensuing scramble Zantetsu wins the race to the loose ball ahead of Chigiri, only for Jingo Raichi to smother his attempt. Nagi then chests the ball down and lifts it over a crowd of defenders toward the net, yet Gin Gagamaru lunges in to clear it off the line. Yoichi Isagi pounces on the rebound, aware that his final opportunity has arrived.
