The First Selection reaches its final minutes with Team Z and Team V locked at four goals apiece. With under three minutes left, Isagi leans on a sharpened sense of the pitch to engineer a winning shot, only to hit an unexpected wall the instant his chance arrives.
The closing match stays knotted at four goals each with under three minutes on the clock. Isagi carries the ball, his heightened read of the pitch letting him sense scoring chances radiating from Bachira, Kunigami, and Chigiri. Reo steps in to block him, so Isagi releases the ball to Bachira, who slices through the defense until Team V lines up a foul to stop him. Bachira returns it, Chigiri springs loose, and the speedster charges into a three-on-one before laying the ball back expecting a one-two. Only then does he realize Isagi has turned him into a decoy and plans to strike on his own.
From the bench, Kuon reflects that he refused to foul earlier not to gift Team Z a win but because he wanted to grasp something more meaningful, and their grit pushes him to shout them on. Isagi feeds Kunigami near the area, but Zantetsu jumps in to steal the ball and shut down the mid-range attempt, letting Raichi recover it and find Bachira. Still tracking every movement, Isagi picks an unmarked pocket about nineteen meters out and breaks toward it. Bachira threads what he calls their last chance, yet the instant the ball reaches Isagi, Nagi appears in front of him and the goal scent evaporates.
