Standing apart from the celebration, Kuon turns down Kunigami's offer to join in. When Kunigami presses, Raichi cuts in, insisting the betrayal cannot simply be wiped away and admitting he has not forgiven it, yet crediting Kuon's grab on Nagi's head for keeping the team alive. Raichi holds out a hand, and the moment Kuon reaches for it he takes a punch to the face. As everyone stares, Raichi declares he despises Kuon but will bury the grudge with that single blow, a stance Igaguri, Imamura, and Iemon back. Kunigami lifts Kuon up, Kuon apologizes, and the buzzer confirms the results: Team V and Team Z advance, joined by the leading scorers of the other fifth-stratum teams, Junichi Wanima with six, Ikki Niko with four, and Shoei Baro with ten.

Sent to fetch drinks, Bachira and Isagi head to the dining hall, where Isagi thanks Bachira for the assist. Bachira brushes it off, saying the finish was all Isagi's doing, and asks whether his friend has worked something out. Haltingly, Isagi explains that he now grasps his weapon: his spatial sense lets him foresee how a play will develop, and every goal he scored came off a single touch. Understanding this, he feels close to building his own scoring formula and inching toward becoming the world's best. Bachira laughs at his growing confidence, chanting the word ego back at him before a high five and a playful fake-out.

The pair then notice a stream of tearful players filing past, the evicted members of the losing sides. Niko approaches to congratulate them and tells Isagi that watching him score changed his own game, pushing him to chase goals for himself, which is why he remains in Blue Lock. He promises not to lose next time. Isagi credits Niko right back for his own survival and accepts the challenge. Bachira teases that Isagi has become quite popular. When they return with the drinks, their exhausted teammates are already asleep on the floor, spent from the match and the party, with tougher trials still ahead.

Raichi settles his grievance with Kuon by punching him and then welcoming him back onto the team. The First Selection results confirm Team V, Team Z, and the top strikers Wanima, Niko, and Baro moving on. Isagi puts his emerging ability into words for the first time, and Niko vows a future rematch.

Called Motto in Japanese, this twenty-page entry finishes the First Selection Arc in Volume 5 and appears in Episode 11. It comes after Chapter 37 and before Chapter 39. Only twenty-five players from the fifth stratum move on to the Second Selection.
