Kusakabe works as a Public Safety Devil Hunter out of Miyagi's Second Division and earns a reputation as one of the finest bodyguards around. Assigned to protect Denji when foreign killers descend, he leans on a pact with the Stone Devil before meeting a grim end in Hell.
Black-framed glasses sit over Kusakabe's faintly muted eyes, which read as either hazel or yellow. His hair, a murky blond shading toward light brown, reaches down to the top of his neck, and like his fellow hunters he dresses in a dark suit.
Careful and exacting by nature, Kusakabe takes his duties seriously and comes well prepared. His strict streak shows when he snaps at Denji for eating food that had dropped to the floor and when he presses Power to finish her vegetables. Makima counts him among the most reliable bodyguards in her ranks.
When word of Denji's identity leaks to the press and assassins from abroad begin converging, Makima gathers a detail of Public Safety hunters to guard him, Kusakabe included, paired with his partner Tamaoki. He demands that Denji address him respectfully and stick to his carefully laid patrol routes. Trouble finds them as a swarm of Santa Claus's dolls gives chase, and Kusakabe answers with his Stone Devil contract. By standing within a marked circle and exhaling through a ring his fingers form, he can petrify whatever he targets, a power he himself calls hazardous because it turns foe and friend alike to stone without discrimination. The dolls are stopped, but as the group flees up an escalator Quanxi appears, beheading the pursuing dolls and falling on the hunters, who go down fast against her.
His end comes in the clash with the Darkness Devil. The opening assault tears off both his arms, yet he still manages to trace the Stone Devil's circle in his own blood and breathe toward the enemy. Rather than striking, the Stone Devil materializes already locked in the Darkness Devil's grip, hardens to stone, and crumbles apart. Kusakabe then petrifies and shatters in the same moment, and the loss kills him.

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
