Chapter 105: Red Hot

Following her rooftop confrontation, Asa walks away from Denji and leaves him behind, which infuriates Yoru. The war devil cannot understand why her host spared someone who openly claimed the Chainsaw Man title. Asa remains doubtful, reasoning that a person could not plausibly be both an obsessive admirer and the genuine article at once. Yoru insists that Asa track down another devil to qualify for the school's devil hunter club, but Asa announces she intends to spend the afternoon with Yuko instead. When Yoru protests that socializing will never coax Chainsaw Man into the open, Asa counters that drawing any devil toward the campus would force him to surface. Left to scheme, Yoru hears Asa muse that she might eventually master the devil by keeping her in check.

Once home, the two girls swap confessions. Yuko admits she has been studying guides on how to win friends, and Asa owns up to an embarrassing accident during a lesson. Yuko then escalates, revealing that she murdered a neighbor who squandered his welfare money on gambling, and she even offers to display the corpse. She discloses a contract with the Justice Devil that lets her read thoughts, a power she sought so she could understand people and look after Asa. Through it she already knows about Yoru and how both Tanaka and the former class president died. Declaring them best friends, Yuko promises to deal with Asa's tormentors herself and urges her to skip school the next day.

Asa rejects Yoru's demand to immediately hunt a devil and chooses to visit Yuko, forcing Yoru to start devising her own approach to luring out Chainsaw Man. At Yuko's home, the classmate confesses to killing her welfare-squandering neighbor and reveals her pact with the Justice Devil. The power grants her telepathy, which has already exposed Yoru's presence inside Asa along with the truth behind two earlier deaths. Yuko vows to eliminate Asa's bullying problem and instructs her to stay away from class the following day.

The chapter belongs to the Justice Devil arc and appears in Volume 13. A subtle hint surfaces when Yuko addresses Asa as Chainsaw Woman, since the Japanese words for chainsaw and war, rendered as chenso and senso, sound nearly identical. The wordplay signals that Yuko has already sensed Yoru, the War Devil, sharing Asa's body.
