Summary

Yoru's hope that Fami might tap her powers dies the moment Fami fails to answer. Katana Man recognizes Yoru and mentions her upcoming poetry collection, prompting a barbed exchange with the Nail Fiend about fandom, the chaos worship of Chainsaw Man has caused, and the swordsman's past as a mobster. Their unnamed Special Division 7 superior cuts the bickering short and orders both to slaughter the students.

Asa counters by claiming the group came to fight Chainsaw Man and offering to bring Katana Man straight to him, hinting that he has been guarding the very person he hates. The agent tries to leverage the duo's ambitions, the Nail Fiend's dream of a thriving business and Katana Man's wish to rebuild his Yakuza family, but both refuse. The Nail Fiend resents the recent killing of children, and Katana Man exists only to destroy Chainsaw Man. Defeated, the agent admits his wife warned him against joining the division and vanishes, promising to dispatch a replacement. Yoru mocks Public Safety's cowardice while Haruka spirals over her decision, and Yoru declares she lives to battle Chainsaw Man, leading Haruka to call her his true woman.

Key Events

Katana Man and the Nail Fiend trade insults over Yoru's poetry, Chainsaw Man worship, and the swordsman's criminal history before being ordered to kill the students. Asa flips the situation by revealing that Chainsaw Man is being held nearby and volunteering to guide Katana Man to him.

The Special Division 7 agent attempts to coerce both subordinates with their personal dreams, but neither obeys. He concedes failure, regrets ever joining the division, and disappears after vowing to send another opponent. Yoru reaffirms that her purpose is to clash with Chainsaw Man.
