Cute

Pulling back from the kiss, Yoru reminds Denji that weeping does nothing to free them. He counters by asking why she kissed him, and she admits she finds his crying face adorable, then leans in again. This time Denji shoves her off, exasperated that his existence keeps swinging between the seductive and the awful. Catching his breath, he confesses he cannot dwell on his mistakes while his libido runs high, and writes himself off as a lost cause. Yoru tries to encourage him, noting that she lost family too yet managed to move past it. The pep talk lands flat, so Asa retakes control with a punch to Yoru's face.

Asa then tells Denji about losing her mother to her own carelessness, and how she still turns over every choice that might have kept her alive. He asks how she made peace with it, and she answers plainly that she has not, but she reminds him of the lesson Chainsaw Man gave her: there is still something worth living for, something precious enough that she would choke down a crapburger to reach it. Before Denji can reply, he heaves up the head of the Snow Devil, and the entire realm is buried under falling snow. The cold conjures a warm recollection for him, a snowy ferry trip toward Hokkaido alongside Aki and Power.

Yoru kisses Denji a second time before he pushes her away, and Asa reclaims her body. Asa opens up about her mother's accidental death and the guilt she still carries, then repeats the hope Chainsaw Man once gave her. Denji vomits up the Snow Devil's head, covering the forest in snow and triggering a fond memory of a trip he shared with Aki and Power.

The chapter, called Cute, appears in Volume 20 as part of the Aging Devil arc. Asa's mother, the Tank Devil, Gun Devil, and Typhoon Devil feature only as mentions, while Aki Hayakawa and Power return within Denji's flashback. The snowy Hokkaido memory recalls a bond from his Public Safety days.
