Summary

The Aging Devil muses that no one leaves their realm, and that the surrounding forest is merely a byproduct of the human mind treating transformation into a tree as the endpoint of all thinking. They disclose that their physical form now sits among Public Safety, perched atop Tadashi Hasegawa, who insists he could steer the world rightly if only granted more years. Mocking Denji, the devil asks what makes him any different from the countless captives before him, and the boy grins: unlike all of them, his stomach was left behind, and after running so long he has built up a serious hunger.

Denji returns to Asa and finds her frazzled and unkempt, yet she has done as he asked and fashioned him a crude, makeshift axe, insisting her craftsmanship is usually better. He brings it down hard on one of the trees, which shrieks. The Public Safety victim cries out that the trees are human, and Denji answers that he knows, splitting the bark and spilling its insides everywhere. Gorging on the spilled matter, his ripcord pushes back through his chest, and pulling it regenerates Pochita on Earth. Denji silently wishes him luck as the Aging Devil warns Public Safety that Chainsaw Man is barreling toward them.

Notes

Stomach in Another World appears in Volume 20 within the Aging Devil arc. Tadashi Hasegawa is introduced as the figure the devil's body rests upon, and the Bitterness Devil features only as a mention. The chapter pays off Denji's earlier deduction that his body and Pochita's share a connection across worlds.
