Summary

Feeling Pochita closing in, the Aging Devil dangles a bargain before the Public Safety members gathered nearby, Fumiko among them: surrender their bodies as weapons and earn protection from Pochita's assault. They consent at once, and the devil first offers up their fingernails to slice Pochita clean in two. Watching the agents convulse, the Aging Devil concedes the tactic is grotesque but swears they will be devoured no matter the cost. Fumiko rallies her colleagues, arguing that the Chainsaw Man Church's actions are dragging The Prophecy toward fulfillment, and that turning Pochita into a tool to evolve humanity could keep the Age of Devils from arriving. Rising to her feet, she pleads with the devil to press the attack.

The Aging Devil winds up another strike, but Pochita knits himself back together almost instantly, since Denji keeps gorging on tree-victim innards inside the realm. The devil then spends Fumiko's liver to behead the Chainsaw Devil, leaving her retching blood. Denji yanks his ripcord and Pochita's head snaps back into place. A third strike costs an unnamed agent their eyes, severing Pochita's head once more as he nears the group. Rather than regrow it, though, Pochita uses the head to claw open his own chest, tears out his heart, and flings it directly into the Aging Devil's exposed chest.

Key Events

The Aging Devil contracts the Public Safety members, Fumiko included, trading protection for the use of their bodies as weapons. Sacrificing nails, then Fumiko's liver, then another agent's eyes, the devil repeatedly cleaves Pochita apart. Denji's constant feasting keeps Pochita regenerating. In a final move, Pochita digs out his own heart and throws it into the Aging Devil's open chest.
