Summary

Asa lets Denji know she managed to force Yoru out of her body, then swings the finger around to aim at her own head. Tears overtake her almost at once as she mutters that she cannot go through with it, yet she snaps the finger back toward Denji the instant he checks on her. Either he kills her or she kills him, she warns, since Yoru intends something for humanity worse than mere extinction. Asked why she threatens him, Asa admits she lacks the nerve to end her own life and calls her attempt at befriending Yoru foolish. Denji floats the idea that friendship between the two might still work, but she replies that its impossibility is exactly why she begs him to do the killing.

Key Events

Pressing him to choose between killing her or dying himself, Asa instead watches Denji try to smash a chair into her. She brands him a murderer, though he points out she had wanted death only moments before. She asks him to draw out his hesitation so she can steady herself for the end, but he crushes her resolve by explaining that even an immortal like him can never feel ready to return to life, proof that no one is ever truly ready to die. Collapsing onto the floor, Asa confesses guilt over everyone Yoru slew while she stayed silent. Denji tells her to set that aside until the Death Devil is gone, urging her to enjoy the moment, and he talks her into wrecking the abandoned buildings nearby for fun.
