The 204th chapter of Chainsaw Man, part of the War Devil arc. Denji finally cuts the imposter apart and frees its captives, only for the Fire Devil to appear with an unsettling question about a familiar face.
Floating skyward beside Denji, Yoru observes that their building is now wrecked. Reasoning that a ruin belongs to no one, she claims it for herself and reshapes it into a blade. Denji catches her as she drops, and after sighting Falling Devil in the distance she sets off to pursue her, warning that if he has not finished the Fake Chainsaw Man by her return, she will do it without any thought for innocent lives.
The imposter closes in, and Denji tries bargaining to release the bystanders sealed within him, but the offer goes nowhere. As the fake mindlessly attacks, Denji scolds him for running a red light while slipping past his swings, then beheads the Devil body and splits it down the middle, setting the trapped humans loose. He tries to thank the people who helped him, yet the sight of Chainsaw Man slathered in the remains of their captor sends them fleeing. He shrugs off the rejection, but before he can search for Yoru a voice praises his strength. The speaker is the Fire Devil, and when Denji asks if they want a fight too, they decline, posing a question instead: does he recognize the human face behind the Fake Chainsaw Man?
Yoru converts the ruined building into a sword and breaks off to chase Falling Devil. Denji decapitates and bisects the Fake Chainsaw Man, freeing every captive, though the freed civilians flee in terror. The Fire Devil then appears, refusing combat and asking whether Denji recognizes the imposter's human face, marking the imposter's death.
Part of Volume 22 under the Japanese title Hitori no Inochi de, the chapter ends the imposter fight and introduces the Fire Devil, who debuts here. The Fake Chainsaw Man dies in this installment. The cast includes Yoru, Denji, Falling Devil, the Fake Chainsaw Man, and the Fire Devil.
