Summary

Chainsaw Man studies the severed head of his imposter and draws a blank. Let down, the Fire Devil conjures flame in their palm and lets the fire narrate a tale. Long ago, a pair of gentle twins took in the wounded Fire Devil and nursed them back to health, telling them about Chainsaw Man as living proof that even a Devil can be a force for good. Moved, the Fire Devil adopted a Justice Devil guise and granted the twins the power to reshape themselves into embodiments of their own justice. Inspired by Chainsaw Man, the brothers began rescuing people as Fake Chainsaw Men, until the Cockroach Devil took the younger twin hostage and Denji let him die in order to save a cat.

Bitter, the Fire Devil asks whether Denji can now place the surviving twin's face, but he stays silent. They recount how the brother felt betrayed and swore vengeance, only for Denji to forget him entirely, which the Devil chalks up to his nature. Denji offers to apologize despite not grasping his offense, but the Fire Devil prefers to corner him with another choice. Before they can list the options, a toppling skyscraper smashes down beside them and the Fire Devil seemingly disappears. Buried in the debris is Yoru, insisting she is not losing even as both know it is a lie. She asks Denji if he will save her, he agrees, and he turns to confront Falling Devil.
