Summary

Denji consents to sleep with Himeno, and she begins stripping him down, but while tugging at his pants she discovers a Chupa Chups lollipop tucked away. A flashback fills in its meaning: after the vomit kiss left Denji dazed at the restaurant, Makima walked him outside and bought him remedies for his queasiness. Sulking over how dismal his first kiss had been and fearing every future one would taste of sickness, Denji is offered Makima's cola lollipop, which she frames as an indirect kiss whose flavor he should hold onto instead.

Key Events

In the present, Himeno has blacked out and Denji has declined to go through with it. He apologizes to Pochita for passing on Himeno, explaining he wants Makima to be his first. The next morning Himeno cheerfully rustles up breakfast, and over the meal on the balcony she admits she recalls nothing of the night and worries she forced herself on him. Denji tells her he refused because he is saving himself for Makima, which leaves her relieved. She questions whether he is truly serious about Makima given her difficult nature, and when he confirms it, she gladly volunteers to play matchmaker.

Notes

The pair seal a top secret alliance: she will help him win Makima in exchange for his help landing Aki. Pleased, Himeno declares them friends rather than mere coworkers and tells Denji that he, Aki, and Power are welcome at her place anytime. Elsewhere, Makima rides a train toward Kyoto with another Devil Hunter, and as she reflects on the prior night, surrounding passengers abruptly draw guns and shoot the two of them dead, one assassin announcing that C Team is commencing the operation.
