Date Chainsaw

On the floor in tears, Kobeni watches a skeptical coworker decide the whole scene must be a staged TV stunt; he is beheaded the instant the words leave him. Kobeni gathers the spilled ingredients and rebuilds the burger, Pochita bites into it, and a buried wish of Denji's stirs in him, the boy's longing for romance. He scoops Kobeni up and hauls her out the door.

At an ice cream truck the Chainsaw Devil tears the vehicle apart and comes away with two cones. Kobeni keeps weeping, wailing that hers is flavorless. When a hunter steps up to threaten him, he is torn apart on the spot. Pochita then steers Kobeni to a Dance-Dance Mushroom cabinet and tells her to dance; she protests that she is broke, so he guts an ATM, and terror sets her moving. He slips away while she plays on.

Reaching a rooftop, he spots Makima below, and she remarks that he has found her before summoning her people. Seven hunters ring him in, each gushing about loving Makima and wanting a date with her. Four of them stake a date against killing the Chainsaw Devil, and the last three step forward: Quanxi, Reze, and Katana Man. They swear themselves to Makima, Katana Man noting she has rescued them again and again, and she takes the wager: beat the Chainsaw Devil, win an outing with her.

Kobeni's coworker is decapitated for dismissing the carnage as a prank. Pochita, recalling Denji's wish for romance, kidnaps Kobeni and stages a date, wrecking an ice cream truck and an ATM and forcing her to dance. On a rooftop he encounters Makima, who gathers seven smitten Devil Hunters. Three are unmasked as Quanxi, Reze, and Katana Man, and Makima accepts their deal: defeat the Chainsaw Devil for a date with her.

This nineteen-page Volume 10 entry continues the Control Devil arc. It features Pochita, Denji in flashback, Makima, Kobeni Higashiyama, Quanxi, Reze, and Katana Man, with Miri Sugo, the Spear and Whip Hybrids, and Barem Bridge debuting in the lineup.
