Aira Shiratori is a main character in Dandadan, a once-popular Kami High student who turns from rival into one of Momo and Okarun's closest allies. After inheriting Acrobatic Silky's aura, she fights the paranormal at their side.
Aira is a teenager whose short, light-pink hair sweeps mostly across the left of her face, set off by dark-pink eyes. The boys at school consider her strikingly pretty, a reputation she is well aware of and quietly proud of. Day to day she wears the Kami High uniform: a dark blazer marked with the school crest near the left breast over a collared shirt and bow, paired with a short skirt, long socks, and sandals, often with a sweater layered beneath the blazer.
At first Aira clung to her status as the school's golden girl, projecting a sweet, slightly ditzy charm while privately running vain, arrogant, and unkind. She wielded her looks to toy with infatuated classmates and quietly scorned them for falling for it, and she could turn cruel when crossed, once seeding a vicious rumor about Momo as payback. Much of this likely traces back to losing her mother young; her father told her to grow into a woman her mother could be proud of, advice she absorbed in a distorted way, equating popularity with worth. When Okarun's kintama let her suddenly perceive spirits, she spun a messiah complex, branding Momo a demon and vowing to defeat her, a phase that dissolved once the Evil Eye took root in Jiji.
Beneath the ruthlessness she carries a real conscience. She publicly confessed to inventing the rumor against Momo, sacrificing her popularity to clear the other girl's name, and later apologized for endangering her with the Evil Eye. She is capable of deep empathy too, weeping for Acrobatic Silky and ensuring the yokai reached Nirvana, and pledging to avenge Bamora after glimpsing the alien girl's suffering. Once her social standing collapsed, Aira dropped the act entirely and folded into Momo and Okarun's circle, where she became proud, stern, and quick to appoint herself the group's leader, wary of newcomers and blunt to a fault, yet genuinely devoted to her friends. She also has a mischievous, playful streak and a weakness for cute things, and she develops an open, unconcealed crush on Okarun, growing warmer and more flustered around him even as he keeps rebuffing her advances.
Aira's mother died while she was very young, too young to truly grasp the loss. Soon after, she dashed up to a strange woman on the street, certain it was her late mother, then rejoined her father, never realizing that woman, who would become Acrobatic Silky, began trailing her for years. As a child she also took up piano and entered competitions; after a defeat to a girl named Koki Yukishiro, she trained doggedly until she finally won, then abandoned the instrument, having grown bored of it. Her inherited Acrobatic Silky aura later awakened into spiritual power, an ability that, unlike the borrowed yokai powers carried by Okarun, Unji, and Hase, has so far shown no drawbacks or limits. Her given name combines characters for love and fine silk, while her surname, Shiratori, means swan, built from the words for white and bird.

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....

Five Bleach female characters, ranked and settled. Yoruichi sits at number five, the spot nobody expects, and our number one is an Arrancar with a soft heart....

Not literally. After a young Aira mistook the spirit for her own late mother, Acrobatic Silky convinced herself that Aira had been her daughter in a past life and trailed her for years, but the bond is the yokai's belief rather than true parentage.
