Appearance

In his real shape Mr. Dris is a giant blue whale, his only standout marking a dark stripe that runs across the top of his mouth, links to each eye, and forks a little past them. The body he possesses resembles a textbook mummy: a humanoid swaddled in bandages whose head is that of a pharaoh from Egypt. He notably pedals a bicycle while gripping a katana in one hand.

History

Mr. Dris ambushes Momo and Okarun as they leave the Tokyo National Museum, deploying Empty Space alongside the Serpo. Ordered to stop the pair fleeing, he erases the road to drop them into a void, but Okarun lands on an untouched STOP marking and pulls Momo clear, sending a Serpo down instead. His cycling sword rushes are parried by Okarun's Oni Club, and when Okarun lops off the mummy's arm, Dris steers it with the bandages to stab him anyway. After Momo's thrown traffic cone breaks his momentum, he blanks out the whole neighborhood and hunts them by echolocation, until Momo rigs a decoy from their backpack and clothes. He slices the dummy, letting them grab the bandages and unwind the vessel, which crumbles apart. Slipping free as a giant space whale, he loses his powers, plunges under Earth's gravity, and bursts into chunks, ending Empty Space.

Abilities

While inhabiting the mummy vessel, Mr. Dris can wipe away physical space, deleting a road or an entire neighborhood to strand his prey in darkness. He commands the corpse's bandages, even guiding a severed arm to keep striking, and wields a katana with relentless cycling assaults. To locate enemies he relies on echolocation, betrayed by the steady Ton Kara Ton clatter of his bike. His true body is a colossal blue space whale, though leaving the vessel exposes him to Earth's gravity, which proves fatal.
