Key Events

Seiko reluctantly lets Hana stay, and Taro agrees to visit her from the school, surviving a truck accident to reassemble himself and reach the Ayase home. Seiko then sends Momo, with Okarun in tow, to spend the weekend cleansing Jiji's house. On the train, Okarun stews over Momo and Jiji's easy rapport but warms to Jiji through talk of cryptids like the tsuchinoko and kappa, even being called a friend. At the village, a hot-springs district tied to Jiji's volcanologist father, the trio climbs to the Enjoji house, unaware that the Kito Family watches from the forest. Momo senses only a faint, weak spirit and heads to the springs, where a group of men corner her in what they claim is a mixed bath and push her underwater as she grows too lightheaded to fight. At the same moment, Jiji breaks through a wall with a sledgehammer and he and Okarun find a chamber covered in talismans.
