Summary

Kinta Sakata, who has shadowed Okarun since he befriended Momo, finally confronts him, demanding to know how he became popular with both Momo and Aira. The conversation derails when Momo barges in announcing she has located Okarun's missing kintama, leaving Kinta to wildly conclude that crude talk is the secret to charming girls. After a tangle with the class representative, Momo and Okarun head to the apartment complex where the golden ball has been sighted, with Kinta secretly trailing them.

Key Events

Kinta's cover blows when he kicks a paint can, and the unseen entity flings him toward Momo before Okarun pushes her clear and spots the floating kintama. Touching it reveals a physical presence inside, and the object flees, actively defending itself and nearly throwing Kinta off the roof. Drawing on his sci-fi knowledge, Kinta deduces the thing is invisible through retroreflection and becomes partly visible once viewed from three angles. Momo swings around the building to glimpse it, grabs hold, and Okarun lands a full-speed strike that hurls it into the open, exposing its true form as a kaiju. As they move to investigate, the now-enlarged creature peers through the broken wall.

Notes

The episode opens the Kaiju Arc and adapts Chapters 64 through 66. It is loaded with Mobile Suit Gundam references through Kinta, who sings Char Aznable's "Char ga Kuru," mimics Bright Noa's poses, carries Gundam-styled gear, and quotes Char's "I see you, my enemy." Momo also riffs on Pokémon with a line about catching the family jewels. The opening cast lists the Earthbound Spirit Crab in a picture.
