Summary

After Saint-Germain fails to recognize him, the Fairy-Tale Card remarks that he is not someone worth befriending and uses his power to make his eyes disappear. Confident he holds the upper hand now that his foe cannot see the strikes coming, the yokai is surprised when Saint-Germain deflects the incoming buds using his sword and summons kogais to take the offensive. Swapping the kogai on his blade for the Jumping Crone, Saint-Germain uses its boosted leaping and foothold to close in and cut the mouth card with Black Haircutter. The strike cancels the power and returns Rin's mouth, but only for an instant before the Fairy-Tale Card sprouts the mouth card anew from a fresh bud. The yokai tells Saint-Germain his struggle is pointless, since he can keep regenerating, and asks why Saint-Germain seeks his death when escaping the sealed trunk is his single aim. Landing safely on the Water Tiger kogai after a bud strikes him, Saint-Germain notes how recklessly overconfident the yokai has become, which the card denies. Recalling how karuta cards are paired, he believes the spirit can be beaten by destroying every card at the same time. He concedes the Fairy-Tale Card's doubt that he could manage it alone, but with Okarun, Rokuro, and Vega freed from the trunk, he reckons they can lend a hand.
