What's Going On Here?!

Having lingered at the dinosaur exhibit, Okarun proposes to Aira that they rejoin Momo and Jiji. Across the park, Momo and Jiji wrap up the aquarium and she suggests moving on. Jiji agrees eagerly, and Momo tells him to release her hand; he resists, claiming it makes them look like a couple, then admits he has actually been channeling his ki into her to soothe the chest pain she mentioned. Momo realizes she does feel better, both impressed and skeptical, and Jiji notes this is not the first time. Elsewhere, stepping into a brighter passage, Okarun tells Aira they can let go now, but she asks to hold on a while longer. The two couples collide in a corridor, each side stunned to discover the other walking hand in hand with their supposed "date." Momo at once brands Okarun a cheater, convinced he faked his feelings for her and likely feeds other girls the same line; overwhelmed, he can only stammer. A flustered Aira apologizes, assuming she ruined their romantic moment, then cheerfully decides everyone can be happy now that her own time with Okarun is in the open. Equally red-faced, Jiji misreads it all and announces that he respects Okarun's feelings but will not back down. As Aira says she supports Momo, Momo screams at her to be quiet, snapping that a girl like Aira has no shot at happiness with Okarun, and the two of them launch into a furious quarrel. While Okarun stays mentally broken, Jiji tries to settle him, warning that Aira's fans will come after him if the relationship leaks, and promises to protect him.

Eating the takoyaki she bought herself, Bamora realizes Kinta has yet to come out of the barbershop. Her focus drifts back to the food, sensing something is off. Noticing a kid at the next table with konnyaku, she remembers how Seiko's own takoyaki always has some, and decides her own serving is missing that ingredient. She picks up a pair of orders from the Serpo running the stand's register, then loiters by the shop door, keeping them until Kinta is finished. The door swings open and the barber appears, his coat and fingers streaked with what seems to be blood. Startled, Bamora is waved inside by the barber, who figures she must be anxious about her friend.

Jiji asks Momo to slow down and what has upset her, guessing it is seeing Okarun with Aira or being caught holding hands themselves. Momo rejects every guess, confessing she cannot explain her own mood. To lift her spirits, Jiji sets a palm on her shoulder and again channels ki into her. She apologizes for spoiling their outing, but he says he understands, then points out a mechanical brachiosaur and shouts for it to look their way. Momo jumps when its head swivels toward them, and Jiji marvels at how lifelike it is, just before the machine surges forward, snapping its jaws shut around him.

The two couples collide in a corridor, each side stunned to discover the other walking hand in hand, which sets off a storm of misunderstandings. The barber invites Bamora in to see how Kinta's cut came out. A mechanical dinosaur devours Jiji.

This Six Curses Arc chapter escalates the romantic confusion among the leads, while the Futakori barber's bloodied appearance hints at violence happening offscreen.
