Momo escapes the Cursed House by spitting hot water at the Evil Eye, but the close call strains Jiji and Okarun's bond and pushes Okarun to seek out training from Turbo Granny.
Pinned with her thermos out of reach, Momo shoves at the Evil Eye with her powers, but the spirit collapses the Cursed House inward and seizes her throat. She spits the hot water she had been sipping straight at it, forcing it down and leaving Jiji shocked at having hurt her. Okarun pushes Jiji aside to check on Momo, and Seiko, handing him a towel, assures him the incident was not his fault. That night Aira apologizes for triggering the attack and pledges more caution, but Momo holds nothing against her.
The next day Okarun visits Mantisian at work to beg lessons in throwing a punch, only to be turned down by the violence-averse alien. Drained from helping at the job, Okarun returns home and finds he can barely face Jiji, who feels the same awkwardness. In private, Manjiro tells Seiko he intends to rehire the Hayashi, doubting the coexistence plan after the latest scare, and a disappointed Seiko reluctantly agrees.
Turbo Granny catches Okarun practicing punches and corrects him, explaining that landing a blow and gaining real strength are separate things; she offers to teach him better command of her power and leads him off, with Aira secretly tailing them. The trivia notes Momo is shown reading Kaiju No. 8. The chapter is in Volume 7, adapted into Episode 19.
