Appearance

Suma is a short young woman with fair skin and blue eyes, her black hair cut to shoulder length above short bangs. Like Tengen Uzui's other wives, she has a curvy build. Her usual outfit is a short, sleeveless blue dress with a deep white neckline and exposed hips, cinched by a gray obi where she likely keeps her kunai, finished with gray ankle socks and white zori with blue straps.

After retiring she dresses more modestly, in a blue kimono with raised sleeves over a white underlayer, with white straps crossed in an X over her shoulders and back and a blue-gray obi at the waist. She ties her hair into a ponytail and keeps her blue-strapped zori.

Personality

Suma is intensely emotional and prone to overreacting, broadcasting her feelings in nearly every situation. She frightens easily, cries at the smallest provocation whether from praise or from the nearness of a demon, and her naive, immature streak frequently grates on her co-wife Makio, with whom she bickers. Despite selling herself short, she is more capable than she lets on, succeeding so well as an undercover courtesan that she became the public face of her house.

Above all she is loyal and loving. She helped lead the evacuation of Yoshiwara when the battle turned destructive, and her devotion to Tengen broke through her timidity when she lunged at Nezuko Kamado for seemingly cremating him, only to weep with relief once the poison was burned away. In retirement she is far sunnier, cheerfully cooking for Tengen's training program and gossiping with her co-wives, and she holds a soft spot for Tanjiro after his help in the Entertainment District.

Abilities

Suma has no superhuman powers, but her upbringing as a kunoichi gives her solid shinobi skills. She handles a kunai well and moves with an agility and combat proficiency well beyond an ordinary person, even though she claims to be useless in a fight. Trained in ninjutsu, she has the acrobatics and weapon skill to be an effective fighter and held her own briefly against Daki's sentient belt.

Her limits show against demons, however. Lacking any Breathing Style, she is easily overwhelmed by stronger foes and is far outclassed by her husband. She carries dozens of standard black kunai, keeping two for close combat and the rest as thrown weapons.
