History

Little is documented about his earlier years apart from the fact that he eventually joins the Demon Slayer Corps. During the Hashira Training Arc he is seen running through Tengen Uzui's stamina drills and later struggling under Obanai Iguro's harsh sword instruction.

In the Infinity Castle he runs alongside Yushiro, and when Muzan kills Tamayo, he turns back in concern for his grief-stricken companion. As Yushiro works to seize control of Nakime, Takeuchi stands guard, his presence hidden by paper talismans. Believing demons grow stronger by consuming humans, he offers himself to Yushiro, who sharply refuses. After the castle collapses, Takeuchi finds Yushiro pinned beneath rubble and recruits Murata to help, then cradles Tanjiro's head while Yushiro administers serums, feeling the pulse return just before Tanjiro awakens to face Muzan. Once Muzan is destroyed by sunlight, Takeuchi weeps with relief, and his line endures through a descendant of the same name (Chapter 205).
