Summary

Shinobu clears Tanjiro's healed jaw and wishes him well. When he asks about the Hinokami Kagura and Fire Breathing, she has not heard of either, but she points out that the established style is Flame Breathing and warns him never to confuse the two names. She suggests he seek out the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro, and send word through a Kasugai crow.

On his way out Tanjiro crosses paths with a tall, hostile youth he recognizes from Final Selection, now grown and giving off a strange scent. He then says farewell to Aoi, who downplays her own worth because she cannot fight, and Tanjiro reassures her that her help fights alongside him. Searching the mansion, he finds the quiet Kanao and, after she flips a coin to decide whether to even speak, gently challenges the way she lets a coin make her choices.
