Mika Jiro

Black-framed glasses sit on a slender frame. Mika keeps her dark purple hair short and straight, the bangs angling down past her right eye. Her wardrobe has never varied across appearances: tights, a pencil skirt, and a shell top with a collar. The plug-shaped earlobes hanging at the sides of her head are what Kyoka inherited most visibly.

Warmth and encouragement come easily to her. When Kyoka confessed she wanted the hero course rather than a stage, Mika and her husband took it without complaint, treating a life's work as something a daughter is entitled to choose for herself. Her answer was that helping people and making music had never been mutually exclusive.

Kyotoku fell for Mika's playing before anything else, and the marriage produced Kyoka, who picked up instruments early and assumed her parents wanted a musician out of her. She apologized when she finally admitted her real ambition, and both of them waved the apology off and backed her.

Mika appears in person when her husband confronts the U.A. staff over the school's request to move Kyoka into the dormitories. The argument collapses once Kyoka reveals he had already made up his mind to let her go, and when the men start snapping at each other, Mika tells them to settle down.

She is a skilled musician, though her instrument is never named, and punk is her stated favorite. Her Quirk, Earphone Jack, gives her the same plugs that dangle from Kyoka's lobes. Assuming it works identically, she can jack into an object, pump her own heartbeat through it as a punishing vibration, and stretch the lobes out several meters. The surname the family carries comes from her side rather than her husband's.
