Armadiko is an enormous, gentle armadillo dwelling on the Island Turtle. His hushed way of speaking and the lipstick-like marks around his mouth convince nearly everyone he is female, touching off a comic tangle of animal rivalries and, for a moment, a fixation on Naruto himself.
Beyond his sheer bulk, Armadiko could pass for any common armadillo. Coloring like lipstick rings his mouth, deepening the impression that he is female, and yet the plates of his tough, armored shell bear the kanji meaning male.
A timid, withdrawn sort, he speaks in tones so soft and gentle that many mistake him for a woman.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
In the lead-up to the Fourth Shinobi World War, Don, Chuji, and Hippo Boss come to blows over who has won Armadiko's heart. Stepping in to end the squabble, King orders that the female they are quarreling over be fetched so she can name her choice. The moment Armadiko turns up, King is stunned and enraged to find who it is, and it emerges that he too carries feelings for Armadiko. To general astonishment and Condor's delight, Armadiko settles on Naruto Uzumaki ahead of every suitor, alarming the young man as the pack readies to pummel him. He bolts, Armadiko trailing behind, and the creature is soon found nestled against a shaken Naruto while the rest of the animals file into the temple. Once inside, as Naruto sets about an ecological survey, Armadiko keeps trying to slip off, and Naruto can hardly tell whether the creature is male or female, its manner clashing with the character on its shell. Even when B puts the question to him, Armadiko will not expose its genitals. Soon after, tremors from Deidara's blast rock the island and Manda II's strike tips the animals over; while Yamato's fast reaction spares most of them, Armadiko is flung down and knocked out, and in that state he is finally shown to be male, to everyone else's letdown.
Armadiko is an enormous, gentle armadillo who lives on the Island Turtle in Naruto. His soft-spoken manner and lipstick-like mouth markings lead most other animals to assume he is female.
Armadiko speaks in a soft, gentle voice and has lipstick-like coloring around his mouth, both of which give the impression he is female even though his armored shell bears the kanji for male.
When Don, Chuji, Hippo Boss, and King all vie for Armadiko's affection, Armadiko surprises everyone by choosing Naruto Uzumaki instead, sending the alarmed ninja running with the animals in pursuit.
Armadiko's gender remains a running mystery until Manda II's attack knocks him unconscious during the fighting on the Island Turtle, at which point he is shown to be male, disappointing the other animals.
No, Armadiko never voluntarily proves his gender in Naruto; even when B directly asks him to expose himself, he refuses, keeping the question unresolved until he is later knocked out.
