Nauma

Three scars mark Nauma's face: one crosses the right of his forehead, and one sits below each cheek, the right-cheek scar shaped like an X. His light brown hair is cut short. He dresses in a purple long-sleeved shirt with green trousers, the waistcloth of the Twelve Guardian Ninja wound about his middle.

Standing among the Twelve Guardian Ninja ranks Nauma with the mightiest fighters of the Land of Fire, trusted enough to serve as a personal protector of the daimyo. Lightning is his elemental affinity. Taking up one of the four compass points, he joins Kitane, Tou, and Seito to work a technique called Limelight, which burns everything inside its reach to ash.

During his lifetime Nauma counts among the Twelve Guardian Ninja. Six of that group eventually mount a coup, and he stands with the loyalists, among them Chiriku, Kitane, Asuma Sarutobi, Seito, and Tou. He and three comrades try to turn Limelight against the traitor Kazuma, but Kazuma strikes them all down before the jutsu can finish.

Long after his death, grave robbers make off with the bodies of Nauma, Seito, Tou, and Kitane and reanimate the corpses using lightning. Asuma, who has unraveled the robbers' plot, confronts the revived four, but his effort to reach the other three fails, since they have been reduced to empty puppets. Nauma strides toward a fixed spot, crackling with lightning, and starts arranging his share of the Limelight technique. Once Asuma cuts down Kitane, the whole scheme falls apart, and Kazuma releases the three he had summoned, Seito, Tou, and Nauma.
