Resonance (Boruto episode)

The clash between Kawaki and Garo draws a glow from Boruto's Kama, while Koji and Delta hang back rather than step in. Garo opens fire with his mechanical arms, but Kawaki conjures a blade to deflect the first round and weaves past the rest, countering with weaponry that sprouts from his own body. The exchange leaves both largely unharmed as the Konoha shinobi look on. When a hit finally drops Kawaki, Boruto lunges to help, only for Konohamaru to hold him back and shield him from the return fire. At that moment Kawaki's Kama flares to life, and Boruto's mark answers by awakening as well.

Reinvigorated, Kawaki shears off one of Garo's arms with a blast and soaks up the enemy's return shots, an ability Mitsuki recognises from Boruto's earlier feat. Garo keeps firing until his Shinobi-Ware overheats, and Kawaki channels the Kama into a finishing strike, driving his manifested arms clean through the older cyborg before detonating him at close range. Delta assumes the blast also caught the watching shinobi, but Koji points out that Boruto absorbed part of the explosion through his own Kama, sparing his comrades.

Reading Boruto's mastery of the mark as evidence the boy belongs to Kara, Kawaki collapses as his Kama recedes and his body vents heat. Koji muses that the echo between the two marks may explain Jigen's fixation on Kawaki and resolves to learn more, choosing to let Konoha carry the boy off despite Delta's push to silence everyone. Examining the unconscious Kawaki, Katasuke marvels that his whole frame has been rebuilt with scientific ninja tools far past anything done to Ao or Garo. He draws a line between Mitsuki's organic engineering and Kawaki's inorganic overhaul, and after Chamaru sniffs the newcomer, the group heads back to the village. The episode adapts chapter twenty-five within the Kawaki Arc.
