The travelers return to Shigure's house, and Kagura seizes the chance to see Kyo again now that he is back in town. Sensing a heartfelt conversation is overdue, she coaxes him into a date so she can lay everything bare between them.

Back home, the group finds Ayame has made a shambles of the house; he claims he was housesitting, though the truth is Shigure simply left it unlocked. Aya reveals he came to comfort Yuki and to apologize for once again failing to shield him from Akito. Sensing a great change is stirring, Tohru visits Kazuma to ask whether the curse can ever be broken, and though he has no firm answers, he urges her to keep smiling. Kagura, refusing to hear Kyo out unless he takes her on a date, walks him out to the park where the two of them first met as kids.

There she recounts snapping his bracelet, glimpsing his true form, and fleeing in terror, then admits the love she chased was rooted in guilt and self-interest rather than in him. Kyo tells her outright that he could never love her or anyone else, yet he thanks her for playing with him back when they were small. Kagura breaks down, insisting she truly does love him, and finds a measure of peace in having finally said it aloud.

This episode weaves together chapter 66 and the whole of chapters 67 and 68, reshuffling scenes to center Tohru's search for a way to break the curse and Kagura's reckoning with her feelings. It also reveals that those bearing the Cat's spirit are barred from the Sohma graveyard and buried at a distant site instead. The title comes from a line of Kagura's. It aired in Japan on June 15, 2020, and in the United States on August 10, 2020.
