As the series draws to its close, Tohru and the Sohma family gather up the threads of everything they have been through and turn toward what comes next. Old wounds are still mending, plans for after graduation take shape, and the people who once carried the curse begin building lives no longer defined by it. The finale lingers on quiet reunions and departures before offering a look at the family that lies far down the road.

Kyo and Tohru share an outing at the zoo before paying respects at Kyoko's grave, and Kyo reflects on why Tohru had gathered up the beads of his broken bracelet. Yuki and Kakeru talk through their college choices, and behind the scenes Ayame and Mine are hunting for a new apartment they intend to fix up for Yuki. Machi later arrives at Kakeru's place to see him. Isuzu voices how she cannot forgive Akito for the pain inflicted on Tohru and the others, even as she comes to terms with recovering alongside Haru and Momiji.

Kazuma and Saki, watching the former cursed members still working through the aches of their past, remark on how far they have come, with Saki now living at the dojo. Tohru drifts through a string of memories of her time with the family, and the episode reaches forward to show the life she and Kyo eventually build together, down to their descendants. It ends the way it opened, on the promise of setting out again.

The send-off adapts chapters one hundred thirty-four and one hundred thirty-six, directed by Yoshihide Ibata with a script by Taku Kishimoto, and carries Haru Urara over its ending with no opening theme. Its title comes from one of Tohru's own lines. The adaptation trimmed several beats from the source, including Kakeru's girlfriend Komaki, whose absence reshaped and shortened the college conversations, while adding fresh flashbacks as Tohru looks back on her years with the Sohmas.
