Wait for Me, Tororo Soba!

Behind the counter at a convenience store, Arisa serves a customer whose toppling stack of goods mirrors Tohru's usual clumsiness, and she jokes that he just "pulled a Tohru." With classes out, Momiji rounds up Tohru, Haru, Yuki, and Kyo for a haunted house. To settle Tohru's nerves, Haru coaches her to invent backstories, then spins an elaborate saga about a zombie soldier torn from his mother, going so far as to yank the head off a mechanical figure. Hauled to the manager's office, the group escapes any penalty once Momiji and Tohru retell Haru's tale and the manager is won over by it.

At her second job in a cafe, Arisa runs into the same man and hurries after him. He treats her to lunch and gives his name as Kureno. His lonely smile draws her in, but a remark that seems to belittle her feelings sparks anger, and, overwhelmed by how happy he made her, she storms off. Kureno follows and admits he has been hoping to see her again since the store, nearly kissing her before he withdraws.

Arisa recounts the encounter to Saki and her brother Megumi, who wonder aloud whether Kureno might be married and joke about crashing any future date of Tohru's. Back at Shigure's, Tohru and Momiji gush over the haunted house to a baffled Shigure. The episode closes on Kureno alone, longing to see Arisa laugh again, as he steps into a room where Akito cradles his face in her hands.

Arisa provides the line behind the title, and the episode marks Kureno's debut. It fuses events from chapters 48 and 50, adjusting scene details for a smooth narrative. Trivia points out that Arisa is unknowingly retracing Kyoko's footsteps by falling for an older, exceptionally kind, and awkward man. Several manga bits were added or dropped for broadcast, including a kappa scare in the haunted house and Shigure's anime-only presence at the closing dinner.
