Crushed after flunking her final exam, Tohru is reassured by Yuki, Arisa, and Saki that another chance to pass still lies ahead. Walking home with Kyo soon after, she is knocked flat by a sudden fever. Shigure tells her to rest, but she frets because Kyo is busy making dinner, and her spirits lift once she eats the meal he prepares for her.

Hatori arrives with Momiji and Kisa to check on Tohru and leave her medicine, while Yuki supplies study notes to carry her through the makeup exam. After she passes, the three head home together and run into Kagura along the way. Kagura brings up the matter of Kyo's true form and asks whether Tohru has any idea about it, though Kyo will not discuss the topic. Reaching the house, he finds himself face to face with someone he knows well.

That familiar arrival is Kazuma Sohma, whose first appearance the episode marks and from whose dialogue the title is drawn. A flashback recalls a young Kagura glimpsing Kyo without his bracelet, a memory that shadows their reunion. The episode also notes how the Cat spirit leaves Kyo sluggish and quick to anger in wet weather, and the anime swaps the manga's winter uniforms for summer ones along with several other minor adjustments.
