Summary
Before dawn, the Tachikoma assigned to Batou powers itself up and rolls out of its bay to see the world beyond. Out among the streets it meets a little girl hunting for her missing dog and joins the search until the pet is found. During the outing the machine comes across a cyberbrain for sale at a market, one that still holds a ghost, and carries the find back with it.
