Tengen Toppa Lagann is Simon's own titan in the second film's final clash, and it stands apart from its fellows: it is nothing less than the severed head of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, cast off when that greater giant is destroyed.
Simon's Tengen Toppa Gunmen comes into being during the climactic fight of the second movie, The Lights in the Sky are Stars. It begins as the head-unit of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and is mended again only when it joins the other giants to form Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
Modeled on the small Lagann that started Simon's journey, this version is essentially that cockpit blown up to enormous scale, though it keeps the ornate helmet of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and a pared-down set of its shoulder guards. It is unique among the giants as the only one shaped from a fragment of the fallen flagship rather than raised anew, and it is the last of the eleven to appear. Like the original Lagann, it can sprout drills across its frame to strike.
Nia's Tengen Toppa Solvernia shields it early on, keeping the Granzeboma from boring through it. The machine then stays out of view until the reunited crew rallies, at which point it takes the full force of the Infinity Big Bang Storm head-on. When Lordgenome burns himself away to soak up that blast, the captured energy flows through this unit and the rest of the team's giants to raise their combined final form.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

There are no women on Namek. That isn't an oversight, it's the biology. Why we handed Piccolo the one thing his own species rules out, and why it had to be trap soul....
Tengen Toppa Lagann is the severed head-unit of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, essentially Simon's original Lagann cockpit blown up to the same enormous scale as the giant it came from. It keeps the ornate helmet of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and a pared-down set of its shoulder guards.
The ultimate combined form is Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, raised when Tengen Toppa Lagann and the ten other galaxy-sized giants fuse together after absorbing the energy Lordgenome captures from the Anti-Spiral's ultimate blast.
Simon pilots Tengen Toppa Lagann alone during the climactic battle of the movie The Lights in the Sky are Stars.
Like the original Lagann, Tengen Toppa Lagann can sprout drills across its frame to strike enemies, and it takes the full force of the Infinity Big Bang Storm head-on during the final battle.
Tengen Toppa Lagann is unique among the eleven giants because it is shaped from a fragment of the fallen Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann rather than raised anew, and it is the last of them to appear in the battle.
